Analysis of windings insulation condition in high voltage machine stators
with use of Partial Discharge Method
30% of high-voltage machines failures is a result of degraded or damaged stator windings.
Non-invasive monitoring of stator insulation condition:
- does not require to interrupt normal machine operation,
- does not require to use high voltage for analysis ,
- does not require to know machine's history,
- does not require traditional off-line examination on halt.
The technique based on 15 years of experience:
-
the research led in Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen sponsored by British Petroleum,
-
the tests on real objects led by ELECO Electrical Projects, Aberdeen, ESL Ltd Aberdeen,
-
widely used on drilling platforms on the North Sea on electrical machines of high importance in hazardous environment.
Handy, easy in use diagnostic system that allows:
- analysis under direct computer control,
- storing of the analysis results,
- scheduling repairs.
